New Product Block Features in Squarespace
Squarespace recently released some exciting updates to Product Blocks, making it easier than ever to customize your online store. Let’s take a look at what’s new and how you can use these features on your site.
1. Turn Quantity On or Off
Location: Product Block → Content
The Quantity toggle only appears if Add to Cart is turned on. This lets you hide the quantity selector when you don’t need it, like for one-of-a-kind or digital products.
2. Edit Product and Stay on the Same Page
Location: Product Block → Content
Now you can edit a product directly inside the Product Block without navigating away from the page you’re working on. This saves a lot of time when making quick updates.
3. Quantity Layout
Location: Automatic
Previously, the quantity selector sat awkwardly above the Add to Cart button with uneven spacing. Now, it aligns neatly with the button. On desktop, the two sit side by side. On mobile, they stack vertically and expand to equal width for better usability.

4. Change Image Shape and Ratio
Location: Product Block → Design
Instead of being locked into the original featured image, you can now adjust how product images display. Choose a preset shape or select a custom ratio (like square, portrait, or landscape) to keep your product grid consistent and better aligned with your page design. Plus, if needed, you can change the focal point of the image.
5. Style Quantity and Variant Dropdown Under Forms
Location: Product Block → Design or Styles → Forms
The Forms settings now apply to the Quantity input and Variant dropdown menus. Adjust these to keep them consistent with the rest of your site’s form styling.
6. Button Style and Alignment
Location: Product Block → Design
You can now select the button style, Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary. You can also set the alignment of the button, choosing left, center, or right for a layout that fits your design.
Final Thoughts
These Product Block updates are all about giving you more control with less hassle. From cleaner layouts to streamlined editing, you can now create a more polished shopping experience for your customers.
